RSPIK Healthy Dialogue
Prostate Disorders in Men & Female Reproductive System Disorders, two main topics for society that are often experienced by men and women in old age. RSPIK held a healthy dialogue on May 31 2024 to thoroughly discuss the problem of this disease with Dr. Davis R.G. Jouwena, Sp. U, M. Sc and Dr. Dr. Suskhan, Sp. OG, Subsp. Urogin RE. According to Dr. Davis that men often complain of urinary problems due to an enlarged prostate. Enlarged prostate often causes anxiety because they are worried that it will develop into cancer. To find out whether an enlarged prostate is cancerous or not, an initial examination is needed, including an ultrasound and blood examination. After that, proceed with a biopsy examination. This Biopsy examination was previously carried out surgically but with the development of Prostate Biopsy technology it can be carried out without surgery but with the help of Robotics for taking tissue samples. The advantages of this Robotic Prostate Biopsy include a more accurate tissue retrieval process, faster healing, minimal infection/injury and a faster healing process. If you find symptoms of difficulty holding urine, weak flow and pain in the hips, don't delay consulting a Urologist. The sooner treatment is known and treatment can be carried out, the faster.
Meanwhile, complaints of disorders of the female reproductive system include pelvic floor disorders such as prolapse of the uterus, prolapse of the bladder and postpartum pelvic floor complications. According to Dr. Suskhan, treatment can be done non-surgically and surgically. Non-surgical such as medication and Kegel exercises or exercises to train pelvic floor strength. Meanwhile, surgical procedures are carried out for urethral reconstruction and hysterectomy.
It is hoped that through this healthy dialogue seminar, men and women will be more aware of the symptoms that arise and immediately consult the right doctor to get the right treatment.
